Bulgaria has its first solar-powered EV charging station. According to a press release recently published at RenewableEnergyWorld.Com, A1 Co., Ltd. and BIES Ltd. opened the country’s first solar-powered EV charging station in Sofia in early January 2012.
As the press release puts it, “The principle of operation of the station is simple: Use of solar panels to collect solar energy. The connection between electric cars and batteries is performed by a special module.”
There aren’t many EVs in Bulgaria yet. However, according to experts cited in the press release, considerable growth is expected in 2012. The Bulgarian government has indicated it will offer special incentives to encourage Bulgarians to buy EVs.
