first anniversary: The year in pictures

Sept. 22, 2009 -- We go online!We go live in late September 2009 with our interactive site devoted to covering and promoting the revolutionary synergy between solar energy and electric vehicles. Since then, more than 7,000 unique visitors from 102 different countries have visited SolarChargedDriving.Com.

It's been exactly one year since we launched SolarChargedDriving.Com. In that time, we've written and published hundreds of articles and columns, interviewed dozens and dozens of people and covered some fascinating stories.

We've also gotten to know some extremely interesting and just plain nice individuals. All of them have one thing in common: They're committed to making the world a better place by growing solar, emissions free electric car driving, and, in many cases, by promoting -- even living -- the solar + electric car synergy.

The PV+EV synergy, and, more broadly, renewable energy + electric cars, have the potential to radically transform our world from one dominated by filthy, health-threatening fossil-fueled vehicle travel to one that could in fact come close to being 100 percent air pollution free.

Add to this the fact that solar-charged driving can deliver something approaching 100 percent fueling independence while also saving people money and reducing dependence on (foreign) oil, and you can see why we got so excited about PV+EV that we started the world's first web site devoted exclusively to covering and promoting solar-charged driving on Sept. 22, 2009.

It wasn't -- and will never be -- enough for us simply to live the PV+EV life, though we are excited about doing this and, in fact, we officially moved halfway to achieving this goal this past year, adding a 5.59 kW solar system to our Aurora, Colo. home's rooftop in June of 2010. One of primary goals in creating this web site was to get the word out about solar-charged driving and its potential to radically alter our world for the better.

We want to catch the attention of other people -- professionals within the solar world, professionals within the electric car and automotive world, and, most of all, the millions of everyday people like ourselves who care deeply about the world we live in, but who might not yet know about the radical positive potential of solar-charged driving.

We know we've caught the attention of at least a few people in the solar and automotive industries, some of whom have contacted us to inquire how they might work with us to help plug more people into solar and electric cars. We know we've caught the attention of other folks as well. In the last 12 months, more than 7,000 people from 102 countries have landed on our web pages. And many of these people have come back again and again and again.
